Photo Love {Inspiration}: Be vulnerable

May 16, 2011
People who know me know I’m strong, but I’m vulnerable.
Catherine Deneuve
Sam Shaw from “Sam Shaw:  A Personal Point of View”

Whether you’re the ever sultry Ms. Marilyn Monroe, quirky Elizabeth Taylor, the ever entertaining Duke Ellington, the timeless Ingrid Bergman or you, you may sometimes feel like you have to uphold some type of outward image.  Are you always expected to be strong, constantly witty, always energetic, or glamorous?

Maybe you are all of those things most of the time.  But it is ok to let your guard down and to be open, be vulnerable, and to let a different side show.  Let someone in (isn’t that what a good friend/family member/partner is for), be vulnerable, and you could be pleasantly surprised.

Have a lovely week!

gorgeous! i agree, vulnerability allows for a different side and shows others more of your personality.

    happy monday!

  • Pratishtha Durga May 16, 2011 at 10:45

Oh, yes! I completely agree. I let my guard down in front of my closest friends. It’s such a relief to not be wearing a mask and just be my vulnerable self. But only sometimes.

  • TimbarikaDoll May 16, 2011 at 11:50

I agree! I’m always seen as the smily, fun one and when I’m down not everyone takes me so seriously, they think i should be smily all the time, so it can be hard, but it’s important to let those sides be seen. The real friends will be there for you like you are for them!! Fabulous post!! Happy Monday toy ou flower xx

I used to be SO strong, but as the years go by it seems I get more vulnerable. Especially after Miguelito was born.

Thank you so much for your sweet words as always!! I’ve been MIA in your blog and I do apologize but it’s great to be back 🙂

    xoxo
