FFF – Origami dancers by Melika Dez and Diwali parties

November 2, 2018

Happy Fun, Free Friday lovelies!

Origami dancers by Melika Dez

It’s pretty awesome when one art form meets another one. Pauline Locti folded these stunning origami ballet outfits. Seriously, origami outfits! This paper art is truly in motion! She teamed up with photographer Melika Dez for the PLI.É Project.  Melika photographed dancers in their origami outfits all over the world.  I spy NYC streets and the great pyramids of the Louvre. The results are visually stunning and a reminder that clothing can really be made of anything right?

Otherwise, this weekend I am…

…back in town and of course attending a few parties.  We are going to a birthday party Saturday night and a Diwali party Sunday night.  I just realized that I don’t have a proper Diwali outfit, but will whip something up from a kurta that hopefully still fits my little lady!  I know she’s most excited about getting henna applied on her hand.

What are you up to this weekend?

Have a lovely weekend!

Wow these are just stunning! I need to see if I can find any videos of her work in progress. I’d love to see her creative process.

I remember you featured a similar origami style in the past or am I hallucinating? LOL! Weekends are extremely busy for us these days, my little one has swimming, gymnastics and skating lessons. No rest for us!

Oh those pieces are so stunning. I love all the intricacies of the patterns and how it looks like there is movement when I imagine it’s stiff paper.

Hope you have fun this weekend, always love a good party!
