Are you a princess?
I admittedly can be a little bit of a princess. Perhaps the princess complex came from being the youngest child or the only daughter. I would request a treat from my dad every week when he went downtown (pencils, stickers, and candy) and gleefully revel in my new My Melody/Little Twin Stars treasures from his trips. I was the typical princess in dress as well and loved florals and ruffles. Later on, I still continued to be treated like a princess. I had the good fortune of meeting a few great guy friends during high school that were always generous and courteous. They always held open doors, carried heavy bags, and offered a pizza treat once in a while. Of course they set the standards for how I thought guys should act (yes my husband does all of these things too).
But of course I grew up and learned that being a princess wasn’t just about dressing the part and expecting a certain form of treatment. I learned to be more generous, humble, and patient. I think of the late lady Diana and her tremendous charitable work that earned her the title “The People’s Princess”. Now that is the type of princess little girls should aspire to be – independent, generous, and kind. I hope that we can all learn to be true princesses inside.

These are beautiful doll, so exquisite!! I love them. I think all of us can be divas sometimes, it’s human nature, but if you can grow and learn to be more humble and have humility then it sets you apart from the rest. Something I try to learn with every moment, it’s not easy & sometimes others don’t make it easy for you, haha. But, if you at least try, it makes life much more happier!! I don’t think I’m the princess type – I never wanted to be one as a little girl (or a grown up!) But I totally agree with being generous, humble and patient. For me the most important thing is trying to be kind xo
you had a charming life! that’s so awesome. i was an only child, but wasn’t privileged. i worked through high school and college. i love your attitude towards it. you’re not bratty. some kids nowadays can be so mean about things. they’re blessed with so much, yet mean to others.

I think you are very right about what it means to be a princess, and we all need to be humble and generous. Being treated with respect goes both ways as well. Wearing pretty dresses is a bonus.

I def. wasn’t a princess growing up since we scraped by but I’m quite lucky I’m married to someone who treats me like one now 🙂 Yes little girls should aspire to be the kind of princess the late lady Diana was.
