Hot under {$100}: How to dress like you shopped at Spring 2013 Fashion Weeks

October 10, 2012

I covered the fashion world (from my computer) in the last few weeks and highlighted my favorite NY, London, Milan, and Paris Spring 2013 Fashion week shows.  I loved seeing these beautiful creations come down the runway, but realistically most of those pieces won’t be sauntering into my closet any time soon.   I may eventually save up for a piece or two, but I do love that these looks from the top fashion houses can be translated into affordable, every day fashion finds.

Here is some inspiration that can be translated at more affordable price points:

Colorblocked dress

Inspiration: Burberry Prorsum

Everyday: Wyatt black and heather gray ruches dress, Bluefly, $79

Royal blue blazer

Inspiration: Gucci

Everyday: Love Ady Challis Boyfriend jacket, Loehmann’s, $40.98

Statement metal cuff

Inspiration: Roberto Cavalli (though this may be part of the clutch, a statement cuff would be easier to wear!)

Everyday: Mesh box chain magnetic cuff, hematite, Wet Seal, $12.50

Sheer skirt

Inspiration: Jason Wu

Everyday: Sparkle & Shade Sheer Tankdress, Urban Outfitters, $69

little luxury list

so happy that color blocking is still rockin’ the runways, and yes to the blue blazer!

Yes color blocking and that rich royal blue are my favorites to come out of Fashion Weeks!

Ooh, the royal blue blazer is calling my name – love love!! 🙂

Thanks for rounding up these finds at wallet-friendly price points. I love ogling the fashion week goods, but it makes me a bit sad to think that most (all) of the pieces are out of my league. The “inspired by” pieces are usually more wearable in the real world, too.

Love how you interpreted the runway looks, especially the blue blazer, it does look hot off the Gucci runway, the last dress is so elegant!

I always love when runway looks are interpreted for every day wear. Love the idea about adding a royal blue jacket to the mix!

Thank you for stopping by my blog, and congrats on the LALM mention! I really like this post, as someone involved/interested in fashion on a very restricted budget I am always looking for less expensive ways to accomplish great looks.

    best,

Great post – I’m so glad that the catwalk trends end up with high street versions so quickly these days, in fact sometimes its almost difficult to find a non-designer-inpired thing in the more affordable shops I find! Love the bracelet, so beautiful! xx
