Winter in an Icelandic cave

Happy Fun, free Friday lovelies!

Winter in an Icelandic cave

While I have traveled to many places with the kids, there are still a few places I know won’t be possible with them since they’re still young. I’m barely able to scale a mountain or stay up past 11 pm so how could their little bodies handle it too? But that doesn’t stop me from reading about all the beautiful places I hope to visit someday. Winter in an Icelandic cave seems brutal, but my are the results gorgeous.

Sarah Bethea has captured the few fleeting moments of a brightly lit December day in a cave in Iceland. The sun only briefly appears just above the horizon in the winter and bathes the icy caves in its golden light for a few minutes. It simply looks magical! These are the kinds of places that are worth the travel and hopefully I can do it before I’m too old!

Otherwise, this weekend I am…

…happily decluttering and donating. I’m rehoming some new items that aren’t part of our diet and donating them to families in need (hopefully, it’s a self-described group of low income families). I’ve also had two big bags of outgrown kids clothing I really need to get through so I’ll at least organize them. Decluttering is a slow process that needs to be revisited often throughout the year, but I’m trying!

What are you up to this weekend?

Have a lovely weekend!

How magical! Iceland is on my bucketlist. There are glass igloo cabins you can stay in overnight and watch the Northern Lights flicker above. Dying to experience that one myself!
